Life In The Forest

For the month of February I'm exhibiting my photography at Goanna Bakery in Lismore.

If you live in the area, please check it out and enjoy the rainforest vibes that permeate through the flora & fauna that form these most awesome eco-systems.

the Matted prints are $185 each & all the profits go towards my investments in a gold mining company in Papua New Guinea...

no, just kidding.... I'm actually hoping to raise the funds for a new camera as my old one passed away almost a year ago whilst exploring the rainforest of Borneo.

Speaking of Borneo & Rainforests, did you see that documentary a few years back 'The Burning Season' by Cathy Henkel http://www.theburningseasonmovie.com/

Well, get this;

Cathy's award-winning production company Virgo Productions is developing a 3D feature documentary about 10 young people who travel to Borneo & team up with indigenous Dayak youth and work with world renowned rainforest restorer & conservationist (see the TEDtalks video below) on a project that will save endangered rainforest and orangutans, create awareness about the destruction caused by deforestation, restore a full forest eco-system and provide a sustainable livelihood for the local community. The project will also create the world's largest and most technology rich orangutan sanctuary on earth.

I'm hoping to be involved in the project & feel it's well and truly time to bring rainforest restoration & conservation into the mainstream.

On a more personel level, my partner Gem & I have moved to Maleny in the sunshine coast hinterland (South-East Queensland). Gem is working at the Andanda Marga 'River School' and I've been lucky enough to score some work with a mob of passionate Bush Regenerators & avid plant geeks 'Brush Turkey Enterprises' working to restore eco-systems at over 65 sites on the Sunshine Coast & Hinterland.

We're planning to get married later in the year just under the Border Ranges, back home in Northern NSW.
